My name is Russell Hurlbert, owner of Viva
Hair & Spa in Orchard Park and Coordinator for "VIVA for
Life, an Evening of Celebration". We opened our salon in September
2004 and have been deeply moved and inspired to be so involved
with our clients who have been dealing with breast cancer.
We count ourselves very
fortunate to be a part of such intimate details in their lives.
The wigs, the shaving of the hair, the weeks of courage, the hair returning and finally making the client feel as she
made it full circle and see herself as she once was. It
is very spiritual for me personally bringing what I do
for a living to reality and what is important in Life!
ViVA for Life has now become an annual event to mark not only the
Anniversary of the salon but an opportunity for all of us
at VIVA Hair and Spa, the committee members and
friends to give back and make a difference in our community.
Please help us raise necessary money for the WNY Breast Resource Center at Roswell
Park Cancer Institute and help honor the brave
survivors, fighters and supporters of breast cancer in our
area.

Breast cancer has touched many lives in our community. ViVA
for Life was created to help generate much needed revenue
and to celebrate living. All proceeds from this event will
stay right here in WNY to assist in this daily fight and impact
many lives.
We presented a check to Roswell Park in the amount of $28,400 from the first annual event in 2005, a check for $50,000 from the second annual event in 2006, a check for over $85,000 from the third annual event in 2007 and raised $75,000 in 2008! The event has become a huge success and this year can be even better with your support!
